SLabsSearch Enterprise SearchManager

Overview

The SearchManager component of SLabsSearch Enterprise is server software which provides a central manager for configuring search access to Intranet data sources, managing the database of search ontologies, configuring user access privileges and for user sharing of stored queries and search results.

Features

  • Manager user access to SLabsSearch Enterprise features through Groups and Group privileges

    • Restrict search source access to configured Groups

    • Assign Users to one or more Groups

  • Manage the intranet  data sources available for search

    • Add/remove access to document management systems (e.g., Alfresco)

    • Add/remove access to OmniFind searching of intranet portals

    • Add/remove access to OmniFind searching of networked file systems

    • Add/remove access to searching of intranet RSS syndicated sites

    • Add/remove access to searching RDBMS views served by RDBMSearch

  • Manage the search ontologies available to users for constructing semantic searches

    • Add/remove/update search ontologies

Systems Configuration

SearchManager has been developed as a stand-alone service application with an embedded Java Application Server and an embedded relational database management system.   (Alternative configurations could include Apache Tomcat and an Oracle RDBMS). Communication between the desktop application and the SearchManager is through standard Web Services protocols.
